Catching Up...

Been a long time, I must apologize.
I was Wanderlusting, and if you've had the pleasure, no more need be said.

If you haven't, suffice to say, I've been out and about, more than a mile high, sometimes as much as just under two. Yoga and music, to the extent you can take it - but also some deep connections, some re-connections, some opportunities and just good times, hanging out, dancing, acting crazy, and breaking open.

Because, yes, I must admit, between the two non-stop yoga and music parties, I attended Off the Mat's Global Summit. What an incredible experience;  I'm committed to doing the work for personal transformation, to investigating the shadow, to being uncomfortable and triggered. But, let me tell y'all, I got to deeply explore those feelings, my projections, my shame and vulnerability and my attributes in a pretty incredible way and with a supportive community - two very long, intense, and yet fulfilling days. But, exhausting!

Having already been in the heart-space of Wanderlust, then nearly overwhelmed by meeting the fullness of my larger tribe - there were over 125 people at the Summit - the week of the Tahoe Wanderlust Festival had me starting out broken open, raw, heart-felt and embodied. I'm so glad i was surrounded by some deeply loving and supportive people - people who wanted to dance to Gramatik and Moby until absurd hours.

More than ever, it seemed like I connected with a lot of men at the Summit and at the Festivals. Makes me really happy - I've not really ever been a 'guy-ey guy', struggled to connect to most; just spent a lot of time relating to women and figuring out how to get by without making waves. But, I digress.

To the point here, I was reminded at both gatherings that "who I don't see" there is more guys. Dudes, Brothers. Men who are doing the work, hanging out and having fun, emotionally engaged and available, and willing to apply that outward. Don't get me wrong, I see exactly those characters in friends I've just made - I know them to exist, I was just hanging with them - I'm questioning why that's the exception. Why can I only count 20 of them, and not 200, or 2,000?

Don't really have any answers - just realized I hadn't blogged in a bit,  and that I've been processing a lot and sometimes it helps to express it to realize it.  I've been blessed to be in a place and have allies that allows me to ask deeper questions, to get uncomfortable, to work through it and to think about service to others. I'm also feeling a little bit called to this journey - building the fullness of the Tribe. Both sun and moon, complements and balances.

I'm going to dwell on and be with that for a while. I'm going to take this experience I've had of connection and courage and caring coming from my brothers in the community, and I'm going to figure out ways to bring more and more conscious and curious men into self-exploration and transformation, in the intention of igniting their power and creativity towards service to others.

If you've got any bright ideas, share them - if you're a dude, or know one who is on this mission or gets what I'm trying to express, please connect. And this is not about "broga" or separation;  rather, it's about engaging and bringing into the community a very large group of unaddressed folks - folks who could really use the practice and its benefits.

Yoga is transformation - transformation leads to engagement - engagement creates service - service elevates all.

Sorry this is so rambling, I"m afraid if I edit too much, I'll reduce it or not post it and I just want to put it out there.
Give thanks and praise!
