Anjali Mudra -
I've been riffing on it as the basis for a solid foundation for the hands, for vinyasa and for arm balancing...

In this video, I dive a little bit deeper into some of the metaphoric and poetic elements of the mudra, and how we are offered Grace if we will only open up to receive it!

however, here's another quick vlog in my series on setting a foundation: beginning in Anjali Mudra, and using that all the way through to some of the more advanced postures!

go ahead, don't be shy! make some rapport with the floor, and push it up into Elevens!!!

another perspective on how Anjali Mudra - perhaps the first intentional action of the practice - is more than a gesture. it's the foundation for your safe, powerful and successful transitions in Vinyasa, as well as the root from which we may rise!

keep focusing on the foundations in order to keep your practice sustainable... you only get two shoulders (if you're lucky!).  Caturanga Dandasana is not a 'shoulder shredder' - poor foundation, faulty physics and a runaway ego are often the source of injury!
