We had a lot of strolling yesterday - and we had really great weather. There were more than a few times where we just stopped and hung out somewhere just doing nothing but photo synthesize! The Dam Square is always a great place for hanging and watching folks - the new trend I don't really grok is this one where "performers" wear a full costume with headpiece or mask and then play human statue...
Kind readers, I've been in the finest Squares, Plazas and Piazzas of Europe and worldwide and this used to be a craft. Some poor bloke would try to kill himself by putting lead-based makeup all over his face (white, gold, silver) and then dress up in spray-painted clothes, go to some public space and then just stand still - for hours!
Now, the lazy shits - if you're a FB friend, I posted the Easter Bunny on break by Darth Vader - just stand on a stool with a mask on and don't even pretend to be a statue, but rather like Mickey busted his way out of Disneyland and went rogue like Palin. Truly disturbing, not entertaining and most of their costumes were hand-me-downs. How would I be scared when the "Scream" killer wears a blue bathrobe with Guatemalan embroidery on it? I mean, that, the ill-fitting mask and the entirely too small plastic knife - and ostensibly I'm supposed to want to take my kid's picture with them?
Enough, I rant and ramble! So, I'll Ramble On (did you know that song is about the Hobbit?) and find something worthy of thanks and praise!
If you're in Holland, Holla!
