If you know me, you know I like to end classes, and posts, and communications with the words - "Give thanks and praise!" It's never intended as a command, it is offered for what it is, and frankly, I say it aloud to remind myself, first and foremost.
I want to be grateful and I want to communicate that praise - I want to honor and highlight that which others do well, and that which occurs in benefice from service. Sometimes I worry that the repetition of the phrase may seem to diminish the intent, however, I've been telling my love "I love you"; and it still feels great to say, to hear and to acknowledge.
Gratitude - we should all reflect on what we have to be grateful: while you may not know 'what' you will eat today, you know you will eat today. You may not know at what time you'll go to sleep tonight, you may have a hard day before your rest, but you know you will sleep and sleep safely tonight. The majority of your brothers and sisters don't have this privilege of safety and security, so by all means don't feel guilty, but do give thanks and praise.
I'm feeling it - I wanted to share. And, in the immortal and beneficial words of my new, best mantra - Thank You, I Love You, I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me.
Every little thing, every hardship, every foible and failure, every happiness and joy and benefit - each and every one of these events has created the you that is reading this right now. It's not happening TO you, it's happening for you!
Thus, I bid ye, give thanks and praise!!
