Amazing photos! I have always wanted to go there and these have renewed my interest with a vengence! What were the incredible, structures that were lit with colored lights? Were they all in one place or scattered? And is there a story behind the afro hats? Looks like you had a wonderful trip!

The excellent 'Illuminades' was this incredible experience they had created, that went all over town, up and down avenues, through parks, over canals, through buildings and eventually to the Harbor.

It was a 'trail of lights', but so much more. The walking tour was great, and most of them were interactive... there were ones close to the Tram that changed color and intensity as the trams drove by; there were ones that made music; there were ones that continuously cycled through different configurations; images on the sides of buildings, you name it.

Been there a bunch, but this was truly a highlight!

Afro wig was just a last minute gas I decided to pack. Needed to make the pictures unique... 10 trips, 7 New Years, lots of favorite places - something had to change!

The real hoot was those two rather dark ones... the one time I didn't take it with me was on NYE (Oudejaarsdavond), and right at about 11:45, we wander right into a group of like 10 folks all wearing black afro wigs. Even better, if you look really close, one of the sweeties is wearing these huge, orange sunglasses (with the umbrella). Two days prior, Susannah almost convinced me to purchase the same pair to wear with my 'fro!!

So, the wig is a keeper! I'm off to AZ tomorrow and it's packed!

Love the Rembrandt pants, tasty treats, the bike seat and the toilet in the street. Very cool wooden shoes, wooden bikes, wooden windmills and wooden chopsticks with someone ice skating with an orange seal, is that for real? Some zippers, a tipped over Christmas Tree and a Skelton enjoying a nice big doobie. It would of been nice though, to lend a wig to the lady of the sinking vessel or perhaps a rose so that she might cover up the area where the sun never shows. Most of all, it's great to see my friends having a ball!
